A 22-year-old from the steel town of Jamshedpur was among the four youths who drowned in the Kuakhai river in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

The drowning victim from Jamshedpur has been identified as Arij Mishra, son of Pankaj Mishra, a resident of JKS Colony in Jawaharnagar, Mangu.

Aryan who was the only child of Pankaj Mishra, was pursuing his MBA in a Bhubaneswar-based college and was at the Kuakhai river along the Balianta thana area of ​​Bhubaneswar to take a bath last afternoon when the tragedy struck.

A group of nine students, including an Aryan, went to the river to bathe. After jumping into the swollen river, four of them drowned.

The police managed to fish out two bodies by evening, while the two remaining students remained without a trace. Later, one of the bodies found was identified by classmates as that of Aryan Mishra.

The police subsequently informed the victim's parents about the death, prompting the family members and relatives to rush to Bhubaneswar immediately. The body is expected to reach Manga this evening.

Aryan completed his BBA course from a college in Calcutta and joined the college for his MBA in Bhubaneswar.

After the news of the tragic death of the Aryan reached here, a pallor of gloom spread over the Mango site.
